There’s not knowing what it is to know: that is hermeneutics.

Then there’s not-knowing as knowing: that is information theory.

We live by the latter; but in the former.

Which can be called a state of ontological fuckedness.

My work is in intellectual history of the early-modern period (1500-1700), with a special interest in epistemic issues around the emergence of modern natural science (the "Scientific Revolution").
